Course description: The goal of this course is to educate primary care optometrists on diagnosis and management of Secondary Glaucomas. This course will discuss evaluation, diagnostic criteria and indications for prescribing treatment. Patient cases will be included to demonstrate the clinical findings and management of certain secondary glaucomas.

Course learning objectives:

1. Classify secondary glaucomas by their cause
2. Outline the components of evaluation for secondary glaucomas
3. Distinguishes the epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of pigment dispersion syndrome and pigmentary glaucoma
4. Distinguishes the epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of pseudoexfoliation syndrome and pseudoexfoliation glaucoma
5. Distinguishes the epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of steroid-induced glaucoma
6. Distinguishes the epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of traumatic glaucoma
7. Distinguishes the epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of neovascular glaucoma
8. Distinguishes the including epidemiology, characteristics, clinical findings and management of post-operative glaucoma
9. Understand the characteristics, clinical findings and management: inflammatory glaucoma, Possner Shlossman glaucoma, phacolytic glaucoma, ghost cell glaucoma, secondary angle closure glaucoma, iridocorneal endothelial syndromes
