Course Description
This grand-rounds course consists of various patient case reports with the aim to solidify understanding of how to manage patients who present with neuro-ophthalmic disease to the primary eye care provider. The course presents a logical, step-wise approach in diagnosing, triaging, and managing patients with acute and chronic neuro-ophthalmic disorders. It also briefly reviews the appropriate neuroimaging and laboratory workup for patients who present with neuro-ophthalmic disease
Learning Objectives:
1) Review the normal anatomy of the visual pathway
2) Discuss the appropriate workup for suspected neuro-ophthalmic disease.
3) Discuss neuro-optometric case reports presenting to eye care clinic.
4) Identify the optometrist’s role in managing patients with neuro-ophthalmic disease.
