Myopia is becoming a worldwide epidemic due to the significant increase in the number of people with the condition. By the year 2050, it is expected that 50% of the world’s population or nearly 5 billion people will have myopia. In addition, it is estimated by the year 2050, 10% of the world’s population will have high myopia which puts nearly 1 billion people at increased risk of visual impairment and blindness. There are several effective strategies that can be implemented into clinical practice that will either prevent the onset or slow down the progression of myopia
